Clinical clarity in cannabis‑based medicines.
Nurse-led consultancy from the Scottish Highlands: for clinics building safe services, clinicians learning the field, and patients who want plain answers.
How I can help. Four ways in.
Every piece of work starts with a conversation about what you're building and what could go wrong.
Reviewing your patients in clinic
Nurse-led follow-up and review for your patients, delivered as part of your clinic's registered service, under your clinical governance and in your records.
Governance and policy
Policy suites, audit programmes, screening tools and patient communications that satisfy regulators and, more to the point, keep patients safe.
Service design and set-up
From blank page to first patient: pathways, shared care, staffing, nurse-led clinics and the paperwork that holds it all together.
Training, CPD and speaking
Competency frameworks, workshops, talks and panels that turn curiosity about cannabis-based medicines into safe, confident practice.
Not sure which one you need? That's the usual starting point. Get in touch and tell me what's on your desk. A first conversation is half an hour by video or phone, with no charge and no obligation.
From Highland wards to cannabis-based medicines.
I'm James, a nurse from the Highlands who found his corner of medicine in a field most people still find baffling. I've been NMC registered since 2009: the first half of my career on wards and in community hospitals across the north of Scotland, and since 2021 in cannabis-based medicines, sitting with thousands of patients working out whether these medicines were right for them. What keeps me in it is the people. I'm fluent in British Sign Language, and I would always rather have an honest chat than a hard sell.

For patients and carers, in plain English.
The UK system for cannabis-based medicines can feel like a maze of clinics, forms and jargon. The guides explain how it works, in plain English: the law, the clinics, the costs, driving, work and travel.
They are general information, not clinical advice. Your own clinician remains responsible for your care. Good places to start:

What's changed in the law and in UK services, new guides, and a short note in between when something important happens. For patients, carers, clinicians and clinics. No adverts, and easy to leave.
